UCLA School of Law receives notices and information about various scholarships, fellowships and writing competitions sponsored by foundations, alumni associations, bar associations, etc. The Financial Aid Office will post applicable notices on this page or our intranet site as received.

THE LMJ SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) is now accepting applications for its 2020 LMJ Scholarship Program.  The LMJ Scholarship is a diversity pipeline program that seeks to nurture the academic and professional careers of outstanding law students.  The LMJ Scholarship grants scholarships of $10,000 to students for their first year of law school. This year, MCCA will award up to 6 scholarships.

THE WARREN E. BURGER PRIZE
The American Inns of Court invites judges, lawyers, professors, students, scholars, and other authors to participate in the competition. Please submit an original, unpublished, essay of 10,000 to 20,000 words on a topic of your choice addressing issues of professionalism, ethics, civility, and excellence. The author of the winning essay will receive a cash prize of $5,000.

PATRICK MALONE & ASSOCIATES OFFERS SCHOLARSHIP
Patrick Malone & Associates is offering two scholarships of $5,000 each to law students committed to a career representing individuals.  We call this our “Representing Real People” scholarship. Our goal is to make a dent in the high cost of law school for students who want to represent individuals, to make it a little easier to choose such a career path.

We are dedicated to helping members of our community become successful and achieve their goals. Medical, social or financial obstacles can make higher education a mere dream to some students. Therefore, every year we offer a $2,000 scholarship to the student who submits the strongest essay focusing on the given topic.

PURSUIT OF JUSTICE SCHOLARSHIP
Grant Riley and the attorneys of Riley Law Group PC have focused their practice on representing children and families who have been mistreated by abusive landlords.  We believe in giving back to the community. We are offering a $2,500 scholarship.

SUTLIFF & STOUT LAW SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST
In an effort to enable more students who have a passion for law to be able to pursue that passion, our attorneys are offering an annual scholarship contest which will award a law student  with a $1,500 award to be put toward his or her law school costs.

IRANIAN AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION 2020 SCHOLARSHIP
We are delighted to foster the growth of law students and to invest in the leadership of future Iranian-American legal professionals. Thanks to our generous members, donors, and community leaders, we will award the following scholarships to deserving students dedicated to community service and public interest. Scholarships generally range from $2,500-$5,000. All current law students are eligible to apply.

WOMEN LAWYERS OF VENTURA COUNTY MARY SULLIVAN SCHOLARSHIP
The Mary Sullivan Scholarship is given to a law student or recent law school graduate who represents the ideals and values of Mary Sullivan. Awards from $500 to $3,000 have been given.

THE CARING COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIP
The Caring Community Scholarship is a $2,000 scholarship award available to one student who has worked to make their community a better place. Specifically, Marcus & Mack wants you to provide one example of a problem you saw in your community, what you did to combat it, and the positive impact your efforts had on your community, as well as on yourself.

BUCKFIRE & BUCKFIRE, P.C. LAW SCHOOL DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
This $2,000 scholarship was created in 2013 as part of the law firm’s commitment to helping law students who are in need of financial assistance achieve their academic and professional dreams.

CALIFORNIA CONSUMER ATTORNEY P.C.’S ANNUAL CONSUMER ADVOCACY SCHOLARSHIP
California Consumer Attorneys, P.C. (“CCA”) is a Los Angeles-based law firm that is firmly committed to consumer advocacy, particularly with respect to enforcement of California’s lemon laws.  CCA is offering an annual $1,000 scholarship for students who are currently enrolled in law school or intending to attend law school that are passionate about consumer advocacy.

RONALD HEDDING LAW FIRM SCHOLARSHIP
Hedding Law Firm, a Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley, CA criminal defense law firm is offering an annual $2,500 scholarship for students who are currently attending or enrolled in college or graduate school.

PAUL AND DAISY SOROS FELLOWSHIPS FOR NEW AMERICANS
Each Fellowship for New Americans supports one to two years of graduate study in any field and in any advanced degree-granting program in the United States. Each award is for up to $25,000 in stipend support, as well as 50 percent of required tuition and fees, up to $20,000 per year, for one to two years. The first year of Fellowship funding cannot be deferred.

2020 BOYK LAW VETERAN SCHOLARSHIP
The Boyk Law Veteran Scholarship is $2,000 and will be awarded to a student who is currently attending an accredited college or university, who has either served in the Armed Forces or is the child of a US Veteran.

ANSWERING LEGAL LAW SCHOLARSHIP
Answering Legal’s Future Attorneys of America Scholarship $5,000 is dedicated in choosing one law student, of academic excellence, every year and awarding them with the FAAS merit scholarship.

7SAGE 7K LAW SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP
$7,000 scholarship opportunity for pre-law and incoming 1L students. Winner is selected based on response to two short essay prompts.

LEGAL STUDIES SCHOLARSHIP
Emery Reddy is proud to announce its fourth annual round of scholarships. Each year we offer financial assistance to students with an interest in pursuing careers in the legal field. We are offering a $2,500 scholarship.

ARNOLD & ITKIN LLP ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP
To empower and encourage future attorneys in their pursuit of similar goals, we have chosen to begin the Arnold & Itkin LLP Academic Scholarship. Our firm will award $5,000 to two current law students who share our passion for assisting the underprivileged and the victims of tragedy. Regardless of the area of law, the scholarship recipients should be focused on utilizing the legal system to support those less fortunate. All applicants should demonstrate both past and current dedication to victim advocacy and/or community service.

THE 2020 EMBRY LAW FIRM SCHOLARSHIP
At the The Embry Law Firm, LLC, we know first hand how education can change and enrich the lives of those who pursue it. However, we realize that education can be a financial constraint for students and their families. To assist with expenses, we’re offering a scholarship opportunity in the amount of $1,500 to help a deserving student pursue their educational goals and prepare for future career aspirations.

FOUNDATION FOR ADVANCEMENT OF DIVERSITY IN IP LAW
The Sidney B. Williams, Jr. Scholar Program provides financial, mentoring, and career-readiness assistance to individuals seeking admission to, and enrolled in, law school who have an interest in exploring a possible career in patent law.  Individuals recognized as Scholars are also eligible for consideration to receive a limited number of 3-year, $10,000 per year law school tuition scholarship awards that the Foundation may elect to offer.

The Johns Law Firm, offers a $1,500 annual scholarship to anyone accepted to or, college students currently enrolled in an accredited US law school.

MELMED LAW GROUP P.C. COLLEGIATE SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
The employment lawyers at Melmed Law Group P.C. proudly support the pursuit of success through higher education.  We also understand that higher education can be a challenging financial investment for some, and we’d like to offer our support.  To that end, our office is offering a $5,000 scholarship.
